How did your club find out about Clubshopsales?

An old member who knows the Clubshopsales people told me about it just when I was going through a search for a kit supplier. The timing was perfect.

Why did your club choose to use Clubshopsales?

At the time I was head coach and also the club administrator. Having two hats made for a busy life so when the prospect of completely handing over a time consuming activity to somebody else free of charge came it was an easy choice to make.

How long did it take to set the shop up?

I looked after the website as well so it was simple. They provided me with a link and banner which I put on our site. It took a couple of minutes. We have had to promote it to the members but we do a regular newsletter anyway so it actually gives us positive material for that.

Do you have any say in what products your members can buy?

We have never asked for anything specific but Clubshopsales has recently introduced a set of branded Slazenger gear and a ladies club skort which is good. They tell me that they are happy to consider any new products that we may want but we haven’t had reason to do that just yet.

How would you describe the quality and price of the products?

It’s very good. There is a great performance polo that has been very popular, especially with the youngsters.

What are the top three benefits of clubshopsales for your club?

  • The fact that clubshopsales is the proactive partner in this, it being their business after all. We don’t have to do very much at all yet we have a dedicated and professional shop that our members can use whenever they want.
  • As a club we have a strong membership but any increase in revenue is always welcome. We get commission from clubshopsales for the things our members buy without having to do anything for it.
  • I no longer have to source any products, canvas the members for their interest, get sizes and more importantly cash and then distribute the order. We just tell them to go to the website and do it themselves.

How did your club find out about Clubshopsales?

A member of a local club that used clubshopsales told one of our members about it who in turn told us. Simple word of mouth really.

Why did your club choose to use Clubshopsales?

We are a relatively small club in terms of numbers of members and the committee, most of whom have many other commitments such as earning a living, already work very hard to keep this club on its feet and turn out 3 or 4 teams every weekend. Kit is always something that we are forced to address but do pretty badly because it isn’t top priority. When it became clear that Clubshopsales would effectively take it on on our behalf it seemed like a very sensible move.

It didn’t take any time apart from locating the logo in electronic format. Clubshop took some pictures from our website to give the shop our own look and feel and presented us with a functioning shop.

Do you have any say in what products your members can buy?

Not really, we are happy with the products that are on there already. They have told me that if we really want to include something specific we can do that. In fact we chose a club tie that they put on for us which was popular at Christmas time.

How would you describe the quality and price of the products?

We are very happy with the quality. We have only had one issue and ClubShop had it sorted free of charge straight away. The cricket playing kit is Surridge which is a brand our members buy anyway. We also bought 50 playing shirts from Clubshopsales’ parent company as they offer us a significant discount on bulk orders because we are ClubShop customers.

What are the top three benefits of clubshopsales for your club?

  • The biggest benefit has been freeing ourselves of the effort of providing club kit to the members. We, like many other clubs, struggle to find volunteers so leaving this to clubshopsales meant we could get on with the many other jobs that go into running a community sports club.
  • We got a great discount when we did place a club order so not only have we had a return from commissions on member purchases we have saved money as a club on behalf of our members.
  • We have had to work hard to bring in new members and players and they come in wanting to look the part. It was really easy for us to simply point them to the club shop and let them get what they want under their own steam.

How did your club find out about Clubshopsales?

We were introduced to the concept by the league that we play in. They recognised that for small clubs like ours the clubshopsales service would be a good idea and have promoted it across the league.

Why did your club choose to use Clubshopsales?

Because of the effort it takes to buy our own stuff in, get it liveried with the club logo and get paid we hadn’t had any new kit for a while. When clubshopsales said they would do it all for us and pay us for the privilege it seemed a bit too good to be true but once they explained how it worked it was clear we couldn’t lose, either as a club or as its members.

How long did it take to set the shop up?

No time really, clubshopsales did it for us. All we had to do was supply a logo and approve the sample they put together. Once that was done all I had to do was tell the members where to look and leave it up to them.

Do you have any say in what products your members can buy?

To a degree but part of the attraction is that we just leave them to it. They are the professionals, we just play cricket. However if there are some things we would like we can ask for them and if they can be supplied from stock like the standard items clubshopsales is happy to add them to the product list.

How would you describe the quality and price of the products?

The clothing is good quality across the board and the cricket specific clothing is Surridge, which is a brand the members are comfortable with. The colours match ours well and the pricing is very competitive, especially considering the members are buying single items and having the club logo embroidered as well.

What are the top three benefits of clubshopsales for your club?

  • The fact that we have spared a valuable volunteer. This is a small, village club where most if not all of the management have jobs and other commitments so to be able to leave it to others and still get a better offering than we have had before has been excellent.
  • We get paid as a club for everything the members buy. We get a statement every quarter and a cheque for our part of the deal.
  • As a club we spent no money up front, not needing to carry any stock or wait on payments from members.
